About This Course
Puberty is a normal stage of life, one that we all experience, right? It can be challenging, too…especially if unprepared. Would you like to make puberty a more positive experience for everyone?
This course will inform and empower parents, educators, and other adults who care for and guide young people ages eight through 18 as they go through puberty.
Learn tips and strategies from The Puberty Lady! Wendy L. Sellers is a Certified Sexuality Educator and Registered Nurse who has more than 30 years of experience working with parents, teachers, and kids. Together, we can make sure children learn the information and skills they need to be sexually healthy!

More about Wendy
Wendy L. Sellers, RN, MA, CSE, FASHA has been a passionate advocate for student health for more than 35 years. She is a registered nurse with a master’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences. As the founder and president of Health 4 Hire, Inc./Puberty: The Wonder Years, Ms. Sellers provides a variety of consulting services, including training, public speaking, and writing. Wendy has taught thousands of educators how to teach sex education and presents sessions on effective sex education at state and national conferences. Wendy advocates for skills-based, comprehensive, sex education that starts early, involves parents, and meets students’ needs.
Wendy is known nationally for writing and publishing Puberty: The Wonder Years and co-author of the Michigan Model for Health, the K-12 comprehensive health curriculum that is on the prestigious National Registry of Evidence-based Programs and Practices. Wendy also contributed a chapter to Legal Resource for School Health Services and reviews manuscripts for the American Journal of Sexuality Education.
Wendy was named 2014 National Health Coordinator of the Year by the American School Health Association (ASHA). This award is bestowed for exceptional service in the area of health coordination. Wendy served on the ASHA Board of Directors and chaired the Advocacy and Coalitions Committee during 2017 and 18. ASHA named her a fellow in 2019, and she currently serves on the Society Board of Directors. The Society of State Leaders of Health and Physical Education honored Wendy with the 2021 Russ Henke Service Award. Ms. Sellers completed the Sexual Health Certificate Program at the University of Michigan and is an AASECT Certified Sexuality Educator. Wendy is a graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program.
